Goodboy (Prime) is an entertaining drama with a superb cast, a wonderful found family and a cute sprinkling of romance.
The action set pieces are plentiful and impressively choreographed and Park Bo Gum commits to being pummelled in every episode (I was not a fan of this narrative choice).
While I always love Oh Jung Se, I didn’t ever really care about the show’s central conspiracy and the game of cat and mouse grew rather tiresome towards the end.
I also grew weary of a character being pulverised one minute and then getting up and fighting the next. This, for me, weakened the show’s stakes and emotional impact.
The key problem is that, after a strong start, Good Boy overstayed its welcome.
Cut the episodes down from 16 to 12 or even 10 and this drama would have been far more successful.
