She’s here! I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Art of Sarah and we now have all eight episodes to watch (on Netflix). Early days, but this is a Shin Hye Sun showcase. If ever we needed reminding what a powerful actor she is (and we probably didn’t), this is it.
Lee Jun Hyuk hasn’t had much to do as yet (apart from looking suspicious and handsome) but there’s plenty of time. I am all in.
I am very much enjoying Unveil Jadewind (Netflix). I like the way this show is structured – like a historical police procedural. Meanwhile, I am loving the development of Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue’s characters. The supporting cast is great too 😊
I finished My Mister and, if you haven’t watched this drama, believe the hype. This is a slice of life masterpiece. While I expected melancholy (and there's plenty), I was surprised by how much My Mister made me laugh. By the end, I was in love with the entire show.
I also finished My Fated Boy. I adored this “age difference” gem of a drama. It felt so cute and healing. I loved the show’s central relationship and how its history was revealed and enjoyed the female friendships / supportive work colleagues. I also appreciated how it explored societal pressures. Also, yay for non-toxic love triangles!
Speed and Love was recommended to me while I was watching My Fated Boy. I started watching this week and, well, I think I’m in trouble. This show is so, so addictive (largely because of Hey Yu) that you barely realise that you have started another episode.
I have fallen a little behind with Spring Fever. This show probably won’t make my “best of the year” list but it has been really fun with lots of endearing performances and a surprisingly heartfelt story.
I was thinking about kdrama historicals this week and decided to start The King's Affection. Far from a hot take, but isn’t Rowoon just so good at moving from comedy to drama? He makes it all seem effortless.
