This was the week I became obsessed with cdrama, Twelve Letters (Viki). This compelling and heartbreaking cdrama stars Zhou Yi Ran (When I Fly Towards You) and Wang Ying Lu (When Destiny Brings the Demon).
The story follows the two leads as they struggle to live a life where the odds are firmly stacked against them (many scenes are very tough to watch – trigger warning for violence / domestic violence) leaving us to wonder and hope that a mysterious post box will, perhaps, save the day.
In short, I loved it and will post my full review very soon.
I am also very much enjoying In Your Radiant Season (Disney). I have to confess that I was totally confused at the end of episode one. Thankfully, my “wait, what?” questions were answered in episode two (to the point where I then wondered if too much had been revealed!).
Lee Sung Kyung is our FL and she is (so far) in closed off, Call It Love mode. Meanwhile, our ML is played by Chae Jong Hyeop, who is (again, so far) giving cute golden retriever vibes. I am sold on this one (again, again, so far).
I also started About Love (Viki) this week. I am only a few episodes in and am a little unsure how I feel about this story of love and fidelity. Liu Yu Ning (the reason I started watching) is super cute so far.
I also watched Pavane (Netflix). This is such a beautiful story of love, connection and healing.I would really recommend this heartfelt and moving film directed by Lee Jong Pil and starring Moon Sang Min, Ko Ah Sung and Byun Yo Han.
Meanwhile, The King’s Affection is not the show that I thought it was… I started watching thinking this drama was a fun historical rom com. While the drama has its moments of romance and comedy, it is also pretty dark and twisty. I am a fan of these tonal shifts – especially when you have a such talented cast.
I continue to adore How Dare You (Iqiyi). This is another show which balances comedy and drama so well. I intend to give it more time this coming week!
