My plan for today, was to start three new dramas: cdrama Pursuit of Jade (Netflix, iQIYI, WeTV) and kdramas Still Shining (Netflix) and Boyfriend On Demand (Netflix).
I'm already watching two ongoing (In Your Radiant Season and The Practical Guide To Love) and two fully aired shows (The Best Thing and Stranger). My question is, am I watching too many dramas and why is the answer no ;)
Pursuit of Jade had me hooked from the start. Cdramas do not mess around with exposition do they! I have some feelings about visual effects and piggies but I'm loving this show so far. It is compelling and has made me laugh out loud on several occasions. I already adore the strong FL and the ML is not so bad either 👀
The first episode of Boyfriend on Demand had some rather pesky set up to do before it closed with a scene that made me want to watch the second episode stat 👀 This show has a great cast and it is so good to see Seo In Guk in a romance drama. Hopefully (fingers crossed) this will be a lot of fun.
Still Shining looks like a very “me” drama and I cannot wait to start this show!
While I adore Han Ji Min, the first episode of The Practical Guide To Love (Viki) did not particularly interest me. Park Sung Hoon’s character is cute, but I still thought I might let this one go. However, the appearance of Lee Ki Taek's character in episode two changed the game and I am now back on board - when I get a spare drama moment!
I am still enjoying In Your Radiant Season (Disney) but I fear this drama may also take a back seat following the release of the three new shows mentioned above. I am not dropping this show but my head has been turned, what can I say?
I made it to episode six of About Love (Viki) before realising that this show was not really working for me, despite my love for Liu Yu Ning. It is not that there is anything wrong with this drama, I am just not in the mood. Perhaps I will return.
I have also paused How Dare You (iQIYI). I was really enjoying this drama but then lost interest for some reason I cannot quite put my finger on. I think it is a mood thing again. I definitely aim to return to this show.
Meanwhile, I started Stranger (Netflix) this week, a kdrama that has long been on my watchlist. I am very much enjoying this twisty police procedural / serial killer / corruption drama.
After accidentally starting The Best Thing (iQIYI), I found myself becoming pretty addicted to this slice of life / romance cdrama this week. It is a slow burn for sure but it feels really comforting and healing... plus I am learning lots about Traditional Chinese Medicine 😊
