I felt like a needed a spreadsheet to manage my drama watching this past week. Seriously, there are not enough hours in the day!
My number one priority, however, remains Pursuit of Jade. I am often late to the cdrama party and it has been so much fun to watch as each new episode drops. I adore our incredible FL, Fan Chang Yu, and our devoted ML, Xie Zheng. I love the action, the romance and the funny and supportive scoobie gang. I will be bereft when this show ends.
Still Shining (Netflix) still had my whole heart. I cannot with Park Jin Young’s sad eyes. I adore this healing and quietly beautiful show.
Initially, I didn't quite know what to make of In Your Radiant Season (Disney). I was either all in or dropping out. This week, however, the show hit a sweet spot for me - healing, endearing, comforting, surprising and engaging. I am now fully committed.
The Practical Guide to Love (Viki) is light, fun and entertaining. Lee Ki Taek continues to be super charismatic and I am very much enjoying the relationship between the second leads.
I watched more episodes of Affinity (Viki) this week. Someone described this show to me as a fever dream’s fever dream. What a perfect way to summarise this drama! It is a lot of fun and I have no idea what is going to happen next.
I thought I would start Climax (Viki) this week (because Ju Ji Hoon). However, I tried twice and could not make it past the first episode. This is entirely on me, however. I am just not in the mood for this show. I hear good things and will definitely return.
Instead, I began Our Generation (Netflix). This is the show I am in the mood for – slice of life, slow burn and comforting. I love it so far and, of course, it features the cdrama man of the hour, Zhang Ling He.
I finished Stranger (Netflix) this week and would highly recommend this gripping serial killer / corruption drama (it is also called The Forest of Secrets). Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na are simply fantastic in their roles. I plan to watch the second season soon.
Finally, I started and finished Move to Heaven (Netflix) this week. I absolutely loved this incredibly moving drama. If you are (like I was) a little wary about watching a show about trauma cleaners, please rest assured. Move to Heaven has the perfect balance of sadness and healing, comfort and comedy.
