Perfect Crown (Disney) continues to give us boat loads of squeee escapism. I think I may need to study this show in depth (for, you know, science) to fully understand why it is working so well.
Casting, narrative tropes, chemistry, pacing, costume design… all the elements are on point here. In short, I continue to love this drama.
Meet Yourself (Viki) has been on my list for ages and so I decided to give it a watch. I had been warned that this drama was a slow burn but that my patience would be rewarded. I hadn’t, however, been warned that I would be in tears during the first two episodes.
Honestly, how do cdramas get me invested so quickly? That should also be studied! Thankfully, the show has now settled into a wonderful healing phase… watching feels like therapy.
I was also warned about To My Shore (Viki) but was I ready? Actually, yes, yes I was. I loved this show so much. Yun Qi and Hao Yi Ran gave everything. Red flags and super intense chemistry for days. I adore them both. I was surprised by how emotional and funny this show was. To My Shore left me wanting more… cannot wait for the special episode!
Continuing my love for slow burn slice of life stories, I've just started watching My Liberation Notes (Netflix). The cast is absolutely superb and the writing is also fantastic, as is only to be expected from Park Hae Young. I am all in :)
I felt in the mood for some angsty cute romance (and a good dose of keyboard asmr) and so started Lighter and Princess (Viki). I am enjoying this show – it has some interesting twists and turns and I am also appreciating some pre Love Beyond The Grave Chen Fei Yu.
I very much enjoyed Reborn Rich (Viki) with all its twisty revenge fuelled deliciousness, fun ensemble cast and the fantastic performance from Lee Sung Min. If you are reborn, it certainly pays to have a good memory for historical events! I would have been useless 😉
