I think I have entered a kdrama mini slump. Nothing has really captured my attention apart from My Royal Nemesis (Netflix).
Chinese dramas, meanwhile, have been killing it (girl).
I am mainly watching My Royal Nemesis for the fun and physical comedy. I am also enjoying the romance in this show more and more and very much appreciate its message of female empowerment.
I am loving Dazzling (Viki). Someone smart categorised this show as the love child of Speed and Love and Hometown Cha Cha Cha and I think that is a great description.
So far, I am enjoying this drama more than Speed and Love. It has such comforting vacation vibes.
Ashes To Crown (Netflix) went from zero to one hundred in its first episode. This visually stunning revenge drama definitely wanted its set up covered stat.
I am a fan of this approach and cannot wait to see what happens next.
I remain mixed on Double Helix (Viki). I think I would have dropped this show if not for the very cute behind the scenes videos made by the leads. As I have ventured this far, I will likely stay the course. It is not coming close to my favourite red flag bls, however.
I finished Go Ahead (Viki) this week and now feel bereft. As a found family / slice of life gal, I adored this show, which explored family, grief, friendship and love…. sigh.
I am not sure how I ended up watching Duang With You (iQIYI), but I'm not complaining! I am really enjoying this drama. It is so, so super cute and funny. It's like sunshine in drama form (please don't tell me it gets dark later 😂) .
I am almost at the end of Mouse (Viki) and I honestly don’t know whether I am impressed or frustrated by this kdrama. The twists are frankly ridiculous and the show has become overly complex and messy. I do love the characters though. I wonder how I will feel once I get to the end...
