The first two episodes of See You At Work Tomorrow (Prime) have me cautiously intrigued. Initially, this workplace drama did not excite me all that much. I just feel that I've seen this set up one too many times.
However, at the end of episode one, events took a surprising turn and the drama drew me in. There’s potential here and, if you will allow me to be shallow for a moment, Seo In Guk looks really good!
I finished My Royal Nemesis (Netflix) and, while it wasn’t perfect (the story felt a little rushed and contrived at the end and some supporting characters were underutilised), the show was both surprising and entertaining – largely thanks to Im Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun’s central performances.
I am loving The First Jasmine (Viki). The drama has finally revealed Ye Li (Bai Lu)’s backstory, and it is so emotional and compelling. Even though his character has made some questionable choices in recent eps, I continue to adore Cheng Lei’s mesmerising performance.
I adore Love Story in the 1970s (Viki). Seriously, if I had to choose one show to watch this would be my pick. It is cute and sweet and filled with endearing characters (and, of course, some characters who are more problematic).
I love the show’s central couple – played by Chen Fei Yi and Sun Qian. I am also intrigued by the second couple’s more complex relationship, which is beautifully portrayed by Wang Tian Chen and Cristy Guo Meanwhile, the story is historically and culturally fascinating. Ah, I love this drama!
Another show that I am loving is Thai bl, Ticket To Heaven (Viki). This drama is so beautifully shot and performed and is exploring some interesting themes about religion, love and acceptance. My only complaint? The drama’s one episode a week release strategy. It
is killing me!
I started another Thai bl this week. I am very much enjoying Payback (iQIYI). This is a deliciously entertaining tale of revenge (and pink bunnies???).
I am watching The King: Eternal Monarch (Netflix) with others and so, for one reason and another, I am making slow progress at the moment. However, I remain invested in this multi dimension love story and continue to appreciate just how much this show loves Lee Min Ho ;)
