First, an apology. I have lost all critical reasoning when it comes to Love For You (Viki). Seriously, this show could send Song Wei Long and Zhang Jing Yi’s characters to the moon and I would fail to notice any plot holes.
I am just having too much fun with this show and how the FL is gently – and not so gently – encouraging the ML to accept his feelings. Give me 1,000 episodes…
I started Blossoms of Power (Viki) this week and am really enjoying this reverse haram identity swap drama. It is full of scheming and revenge and I am loving He Yu’s performance. Question: is he attempting to usurp Cheng Lei’s position as King of the bathtub scene?
I also started Dream To You (Viki). It is lovely to see Hwang In Youp in another drama and I will always have a soft spot for Lee Hye Ri. The first two episodes were, well, fine. There is potential here (and I do love a story about filmmaking) but the FL is written in a slightly off-putting way. Jury is out...
I decided to continue See You At Work Tomorrow (Prime) because of Seo In Guk. In the last two episodes his character has been very cute and there have been some top tier kdrama smoochies. I also like the second lead potential noona romance. However, the show keeps introducing annoying “lack of communication” storylines and I am finding that frustrating.
Late to the party, I started The Wonderfools (Netflix). It took me a good three episodes to get into this drama but, now that I am in, I am all in. This fun and fresh take on the super hero genre is chaotically entertaining and super endearing.
What in the tonal shift is Strong Girl Bong Soon (Netflix)? I am very much enjoying the dynamic between Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik’s characters but the serial killer plot seems jarring. Meanwhile, there are occasional gay panic adjacent “jokes” that are not at all welcome. So far, the leads are keeping me going :)
It is taking me way longer that it should to finish The King: Eternal Monarch. No reflection on the show itself because I am having a good time with this (slightly confusing) tale of parallel universes featuring slow mo Lee Min Ho. It is more a time issue because I always look forward to watching this show.
